Staying Together During Covid-19

What have we done during the 'Covid' lockdown at Amelia House.

Nothing different is the answer.

Yes we have made sure we are safe, the house is cleaned more and staff can look silly at times with gloves and things but overall it is just as fun.

  • We had an 18th Birthday Garden Party in April for one person who lives here

  • We had our 'Be who you want to be' ball where we all dressed up, people we support and staff to celebrate diversity in May 2020!

  • We have our LGBTQ+ Party this month on the 27th of this month, to celebrate as a family again, another important issue.

  • We did have to call off our fundraising event in April, this was to raise money for 'Macmillan' as one of our friends who live at the home lost a parent and we all wanted to raise money to stop sad things like this happening, we hope when this is all over we can do it again, jake keeps saying he keeps getting emails about dates.

  • We have baked for our elderly neighbors and dropped them off with social distancing.

  • We have offered Cakes, Food and Treats to key workers in local care homes within our village, we want to help our local community.

  • People heard about us being stuck indoors, and the people of Normanton donated garden furniture.

  • The biggest thing we have achieved during this tho, is be together and be happy.

Look at some of our photos, everyone has consented to these being shared!!! :)
